Today the president made us to understand that he has kicked of Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF) good idea. He said they have approved seed capital of $1 billion dollars to kick start. But the big question is what happened to the federation account? Why creating another different account? While there are several secret oil accounts that are not accounted for. What is the guarantee that this is not another opportunity to enrich some few privileged persons in government. What happened to such similar programs initiated by the former government Olusegun Obasanjo, IBB and the late Abacha.
The most laughable thing in this present government is that they are planning to save money for the future generation while the present generation are dieing of hunger and starvation. Do they not know that such fund they are calling FUTURE GENERATION FUND, could be used to create more job opportunities for the present generation thereby securing future for the yet unborn. There is no way you can develop a notion with out first developing the human resources; there is no way you can save for the future with out securing the present.
Nigerian people needs the right thing to be done to bring a change in the nation, those window dressing polices can not bring in any change. Even when we know that Nigeria is an artificial entity put together by the British,we may decide to make it work if we so much desired. We cannot save future for our generation yet unborn, but we can save our generation yet unborn for the future. Let the government in Nigeria know today that; action without vision just passes the time.
While vision with action can change the nation within a shortest possible time. Change is not merely necessary to life - it is life.
The people in government may frowned on my believe, but I have strong feelings on how few individuals who are privileged to be in government loot the treasury. People can Jump up being ill-informed or naïve,but I have the right to say what I believe.
We need a revolutionary change, if a may quote John F. Kennedy he said “those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
